A Scottish castle is set to become the newest home of one of the world’s most exclusive organic skincare brands.
Crossbasket Castle in Glasgow will soon offer treatments using products from A.S Apothecary, an Isle of Harris-based company known for its small-batch, plant-based skincare.
The products will feature at the castle’s new Four Angels Spa, making it only the fourth location in the world to offer the brand.

Amanda Saurin, founder of A.S Apothecary, said: Lots
Amanda Saurin, founder of A.S Apothecary, said: “Lots of people approach me and, almost invariably, I say no.
“Alison and Steve were different.
“From our very first conversation, I understood their vision for Four Angels and how naturally it aligned with our therapeutic plant work.
“We’ve been working on this for at least four years, right from the beginning, and the concept has never really changed – it has simply been refined.
It has always been about trees, flowers
“It has always been about trees, flowers and sea, and now the honey and propolis from Crossbasket Estate itself.
“Everything is gathered within a very small area and used almost immediately wherever possible.
“That means we know exactly where everything has come from.
“There is a real sense of provenance and traceability in every product.”
A.S Apothecary is known for its use of organically grown, handpicked, and sustainably wild-harvested plants from the Isle of Harris.
Crossbasket Castle will be the brand’s first location in Scotland and only its third in the UK, joining Claridge’s in London and Beaverbrook in Surrey.
The new spa is scheduled to open in autumn 2026.
The Four Angels Spa draws inspiration
The Four Angels Spa draws inspiration from the Four Angels Waterfall on the castle’s estate.
A.S Apothecary has developed four bespoke skincare ranges for the spa, each representing a pillar of wellbeing: Roots, Purity, Renewal, and Wholeness.
The collection uses flowers, bark, leaves, roots, blossom, and seaweed, with ingredients used as fresh as possible to maintain their natural properties.

The collaboration is the result of a four-year partnership between Amanda and Crossbasket Castle owners Alison and Steve Timoney.
The skincare line is influenced by both A.S Apothecary’s botanical philosophy and the natural surroundings of the Crossbasket estate.
It will feature honey and propolis from the castle’s own hives, alongside other botanicals found on the grounds.

The range will include essential oils, distillations, balms, massage oils, scrubs, and masks, as well as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
A selection of four herbal teas, each inspired by one of the Four Angels ranges, will also be offered.
Alison Timoney, owner of Crossbasket Castle, said: “When Amanda first talked us through the idea of the Four Angels ranges, it just made sense.
“It’s not something you can rush.
We’ve had four years to get this right,
“We’ve had four years to get this right, and every element has been chosen deliberately, right down to the honey from our own hives.
“What makes it particularly special is that this is not simply a product we are bringing into the spa.
“We have created something together that connects Harris and Crossbasket Estate through the same ideas of nature, care and provenance.”
